About Marc Chagall
Marc Chagall (1887-1985) was one of the most famous and popular artists in the modern era. Throughout his career, Chagall worked across variety of mediums and styles. Originally from Russia, the artist lived in France for much of his life, where his work is loved and admired.
Inspired by his adopted home, Chagall's lithographs from his "Paris Series" showcase his talent as a renowned colourist and gift for creating dream-like scenes which combine the imaginary and the real. The original "Paris Series" lithographs are in a wooden frame with museum-quality, non-reflective glass. The wooden frame is the original gilt frame first used when the piece was purchased by a private collector in Paris mid-20th century.
