About Jean Cocteau

Jean Cocteau (b. 1889) was a fantastically influential French artist, writer, playwright, designer and filmmaker. As one of the leading figures in the Dada and Surrealist movements, he enjoyed close friendships and collaborated with other notable artists of the time, including Picasso, Man Ray and Picabia. Amongst his many honors, he was a commander of the Legion of Honor and a member of the Academic Francaise.

This original signed lithograph, Carnival De Nice, was created as a poster for the Nice Carnival in 1954 and was printed in Paris.
