About Sarah Beddington
Sarah Beddington (b. 1964) is an artist and filmmaker living in London. Beddington has had her work exhibited at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid and the Massachusetts Museum of Modern Art (MASS MoCA) in the United States.
In Copse, Beddington recreates the interior of a London storefront. The artist layered tones of paint, then meticulously incised lines to create a rainbow of purple colored bands, when viewed from the side. This effect is abstract, yet drawn from the more figurative painted image.
