About Jane Eakin
Jane Eakin (1919-2002) was an American artist who lived in Menerbes, France for over 40 years. She painted the Provencal countryside, which had become her beloved home. Eakin became well-known for her landscapes, portraits and still lifes, which so beautifully depict the light and palette of the region. Her work is held in collections between New York and France. The majority of her paintings were gifted to the Jane Eakin Foundation and the Museum Jane Eakin, at the site of her former home in France.
