About Geddes Levenson & Annie Blazejack
Geddes Levenson and Annie Blazejack are collaborative artists who work primarily with oil painting and textile installation. They began making work together as undergraduates at Brown University. Blazejack received her MFA from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University in 2013 and Levenson received her MFA from Pratt University in 2014. They have held several residencies and their most recent solo shows have been at The Art and Culture Center, Hollywood, FL and the White Page Gallery, Minn, amongst others.
The artists painted thousands of small spheres to look like a starry universe and set them afloat in a pool. Viewers could dive in and out of the universe, sending galaxies spinning with each gesture. This painting is part of a series which uses video stills from this performance as reference images.
